Help on info to restore a yacht?

My father purchase a boat a couple of years ago but is now to weak to restore it. He has offered it to me which I gladly accepted, but know nothing about sailing much less restoring a boat. Were do I start? Where do I look for info on restoring a boat, and how do I learn to sail?
