What type pf carburetor and fuel pump should I use?

I have an early 70's Chaparral G44B engine. It is used on a small airboat. I get a great amount of performance out of it. I would like to try a different carb fuel pump set up on it. I am looking for something similar to what is used on a Cuyuna. It does not rely on the base pressure built up at the PTO seal like the Chaparral. Has anyone ever done this and had any success with it? Not a big deal but it would be fun to try something different for a little more performance, and improve throttle response.
